A person is dead after an early-morning crash involving a scooter-style e-bike on Charles Street East, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). Emergency crews were called shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday following reports the e-bike had collided with a pole. The rider suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased. “I’d also like to thank the good Samaritans that stopped to provide assistance and contact police.”Police closed Charles Street East between Mill Line and Taylor Street as officers investigated. Sanchuk said the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released when available.
