EPRDF Congress Deliberates Amid Violence and Clashes in the CountryOctober 4, 2018 - The 11th Congress of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) started yesterday in Hawassa, amid a series ethnic-based violence and attacks in the various parts of the country. A total of 2000 participants, including 1,000 voting members drawn from the four member parties of EPRDF, are taking part in the Congress. The congress unanimously approved the report presented by organizing committee of the Congress this afternoon. The slogan for this 11th congress is “National Unity for multifaceted prosperity.”The EPRDF congress is expected to elect Chair and Deputy Chair of the organization. Two of the member parties (ODP and ADP) have changed names.
