Unless you were asleep, you know that the 2018 Major League Baseball season is here. The daily buzz of early play has had fans talk about Bryce Harper to Shohei Ohtani, Robinson Cano to Andrew McCutchen. And while there is little doubting they have interest in these sub-stories, there is a group inside Major League Baseball looking at the clock. Fans and media tend to focus on the “time” part without thinking of it in terms of reducing lulls in the action. Is it significant enough to prevent a pitch clock from becoming part of the landscape in 2020?
