The earthquake occurred 24 miles from Tehachapi, 28 miles from California City, 31 miles from Arvin and 32 miles from Lamont. In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 2.2 miles.
