(Reuters photo)MANILA: An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 struck the southern Philippines on Friday night, leaving at least six people dead and 125 others injured in addition to causing major damage to infrastructure, authorities said Saturday. According to the regional disaster management office, the runway at Surigao city airport was damaged, prompting the cancellation of flights. Houses, roads, bridges in Surigao del Norte province and a school in Surigao city were damaged, with blackouts also experienced. Power lines were down, water supply was interrupted, a bridge and a hotel collapsed and some homes were damaged, Surigao city councillor Rise Recabo told DZRH radio.
