Orders for exports have risen at the quickest pace yet recordedThe manufacturing sector expanded at its fastest pace in at least 29 years last month as clients rushed to put in new orders, a closely watched survey suggested. The easing of lockdown measures released a surge in pent-up demand, which lifted the IHS Markit/CIPS UK manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) to its highest level since the survey began in 1992.
