Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday announced the latest steps to take the country out of lockdown, which will see pubs, restaurants and hairdressers all open from July 4. Cinemas and museums will also reopen next month, but Sir David fears this could lead to a second wave of coronavirus in the winter. He told Sky News: “I think it’s extraordinarily risky. I don’t think there’s anyone who can believe from the scientific point of view that this a wise move." But Imperial College economist Professor David Miles told BBC Radio 5 the easing of lockdown measures was overdue.
