The Ebonyi State Government and the Catholic community have been plunged into mourning following the transition to glory of the 3rd Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Abakaliki, Most Rev. In a press statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, at the weekend, the Governor, Rt. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, described the late bishop as a “spiritual colossus” whose death marks a significant void in the moral and spiritual fabric of the state. The governor, however, noted that while the state is pained, it remains comforted by the bishop’s legacy of devotion. He then reflected on the bishop’s life through the lens of scripture, 2 Timothy 4:7: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”“Indeed, Bishop Chukwu lived a life worthy of this testimony.
