EDMONTON—Edmonton’s Punjabi community is not happy with United Conservative Party’s decision to pick Len Rhodes as its candidate for Edmonton-Meadows over Arundeep Sandhu. On Sunday, members of the Punjabi community rallied together at Aria Banquet Hall in southeast Edmonton and voiced their disappointment over the decision to pick the former president and CEO of the Edmonton Eskimos over a local nomination hopeful. Nav Singh at the rally organized by the Punjabi community in Edmonton-Meadows in southeast Edmonton to voice their disappointment over the nomination of Len Rhodes as a UCP candidate. ( Kashmala Fida / Star ) Arundeep Sandhu was a hopeful for UCP nomination for Edmonton-Meadows. Though no decisions were made, Singh says the community will support Sandhu should he choose to run without a party.
