Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has directed Egyptian diplomatic missions to hold daily meetings to monitor the status of citizens residing in the region following recent regional developments, the ministry said on Tuesday. The minister ordered that all consular transactions be streamlined, with heads of diplomatic and consular missions required to directly supervise service delivery and monitor citizen satisfaction. According to figures reviewed during the meeting, the ministry issued 3,082 passports for citizens abroad over a 10-day period. This brings the total number of passports issued since the start of the year to approximately 14,700. Mobile authentication units are setto begin operations at several institutions, including the British University in Egypt, Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and Helwan University, to reduce pressure on existing offices.
