Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Cairo’s full solidarity with Qatar and other Gulf states during talks with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha on Saturday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said. The meeting occurred during Abdelatty’s stopover in Doha en route to Islamabad, where he emphasised Egypt’s condemnation of attacks targeting regional countries and reiterated its support for Gulf security and stability. The discussions also covered the economic impact of the ongoing war, including rising energy and food prices and disruptions to global supply chains, as well as measures taken by Qatar to protect energy infrastructure and maintain economic stability. Abdelatty briefed his counterpart on preparations for a planned four-party ministerial meeting in Islamabad, which will bring together the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to discuss military escalation and explore ways to reduce regional tensions. Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to safeguard Arab national security and support diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region.
