CAIRO – 27 August 2020: Egypt spent LE 2.4 billion to 1.6 million irregular workers, Minister of ManpowerMohamed Saafan said Thursday. Safaan clarified that the third batch of the presidential grant to irregular workers was completed on Wednesday, August 26. The initiative includes spending LE 500 in 3 payments, totaling LE 1,500. It aimed to help irregular workers whose incomes were severed because of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). In March, the manpower ministry opened the door for irregular workers to register on its website www.manpower.gov.eg.
