Egypt’s President Abdelfattah al-Sisi inaugurated Thursday the Tahya Misr multipurpose maritime Terminal in Alexandria as part of plans to develop local ports, local media “Ahram Online” reports. The Tahya Misr multipurpose maritime Terminal will play a vital role in transforming the Port of Alexandria into a regional and global hub for trade and logistics, the media notes. The inaugurated Terminal is meant to be a green smart station that utilizes the best methods for handling goods. The terminal is expected to function as the heart of the logistical station established behind the Alexandria port, with an annual capacity of 12-15 million tons of goods. French companies “Compagnie Maritime d’Affrètement (CMA) and Compagnie Générale Maritime (CGM)” will run and manage the Terminal.
