Egypt has signed an MoU with a Belgium company aimed at exporting renewable energy from the North African country to Europe. The project includes extending a subsea cable to transmit energy to Europe with at least 2GW capacity, state media reported. It will carry electricity from Egypt’s renewable energy sources and will supply residential consumers and businesses in Greece and neighbouring European countries.
