Egypt’s strategic reserves of essential food commodities and petroleum products are sufficient to meet demand for several months, Egyptian cabinet ministers said on Saturday following regional developments. Supply Minister Sherif Farouk confirmed the availability of a safe inventory of various basic commodities for several months. Petroleum Minister Karim Badawi stated that reserves of petroleum products remain stable at safe levels, with supplies being delivered regularly for various uses, specifically for production sectors. The Petroleum Minister also visited the National Gas Grid Control Centre on Saturday to review the plan for securing natural gas supplies and its distribution across the local market. Badawi said the visit aimed to ensure the system’s readiness to implement proactive scenarios designed to manage any new developments.
