Egypt makes land available in West Sohag for wind power plant

A 5GW wind power plant is to be built in Egypt after an agreement was reached between the government and a Norwegian energy company. It was signed off by the Egyptian New and Renewable Energy Authority this week. The project involves the allocation of land in West Sohag to construct the wind power plant and encompasses $5 billion in investments. The new wind power plant is expected to produce 5GWs of energy annually for Egypt. The country intends replacing them with 10GW of renewable energy built using private investment.
