In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 42 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 11,956. Egypt’s Health Minister Hala Zayed said Egypt is expected to receive 854,000 coronavirus vaccine doses starting Wednesday through COVID-19 Vaccines Global Access (COVAX) co-led by Vaccine Alliance (GAVI). Egypt has so far obtained 650,000 doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine.
