CAIRO—Egyptian lawmakers are preparing to set in motion a national vote that could allow President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to remain in power until 2030, cementing the ex-general’s authority over the Arab world’s most populous nation. Parliament will vote Tuesday on a package of constitutional amendments that include an extension of the president’s term and an expansion of his power over the judiciary. The changes are expected to pass by a large margin in a body dominated by lawmakers loyal to Mr. Sisi.
