Egyptian National Theatre to finally reopen


The Egyptian National Theatre - Cairo Opera House Press ReleaseCAIRO – 27 January 2018: After overcoming all the obstacles pertaining to the reopening of the Egyptian National Theatre by the Minister of Culture Enas Abdel Dayem, the theatre will open its doors to the public starting from Thursday, February 1.The National Theatre was closed for more than 3 months for renovations. Abdel Dayem held several meetings with the officials of the Artistic Theatre House and the company responsible for maintenance work and solved all the problems preventing it from reopening sooner.On its inauguration day, the theatre will showcase “Edhak lama Temoot” (Laugh till you Die) play. The play stars Nabil el-Halafawy, Mahmoud el-Genedy, Salwa Osman, Eman Emam, Hamdy Hassan amongst others. “Edhak lama Temoot” is written by Lenen el-Ramly and directed by Essam el-Sayed.The famous Egyptian artist and the former head of Cairo Opera House Enas Abdel Dayem was chosen as the new minister of Culture on January 14. She claimed the first rank in a competition between Parisian Music Institutes.
