TWENTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD Iswarin Ashana made a special point to go to the Great Mosque of Malang, East Java, for Eid prayers. Every Aidilfitri, the mosque hosts tens of thousands of worshippers for Eid prayers, which overflows to the nearby alun-alun (town square), as well as the yards of both churches. “We are happy to share God’s love and grace with our Muslim brothers and sisters so that there can be harmony and tolerance,” he said. “I’m very happy to see that there is still harmony and mutual help, despite our different religions,” she said. “We respect each other and help each other to ensure smooth worship on both sides,” he said.
