The Dhaka Tribune analyzed what the party promised in the 2008 and 2014 elections and what they executed during their tenure. Awami League’s 2018 election manifestoIn the 2018 election manifesto, Awami League promised to: make parliament more effective, ensure good governance, show zero-tolerance for corruption, make a stronger electoral system through reform, and focus on infrastructure development. In order to implement this pledge it listed seven commitments in section five of the party’s election manifesto. In the 2014 election manifesto, the party promised to reserve 100 parliamentary seats for women with the provision for direct election, but only 50 seats are reserved. These are still unfulfilled and were included again in the 11th general election manifesto.
