The Washington Commanders selected Forbes as the 16th overall pick on Thursday evening and he was the second cornerback selected in the first round. Forbes becomes the 16th Bulldog in school history to be selected in the first round and the fifth first-rounder from State since the 2019 NFL Draft. He is also the fifth Bulldog ever selected by Washington, and the second first-round pick to go to Washington, joining former Bulldog Montez Sweat. Forbes capped off an impressive Bulldog career in the 2022 season, his best season in the Maroon and White. Overall, Forbes becomes the sixth Mississippi State cornerback drafted by the NFL in the last 10 seasons.
