A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said that the encroachments around the idol cannot be permitted to stand. It said several projects have been undertaken by the Delhi Development Authority which involves the relocation of temples from various parts of the NCR. The court sought the reply of the DDA along with the authorities concerned by December 12. During the course of the hearing, the civic bodies informed the court that the information regarding encroachments and unauthorised constructions would be made available in public domain by December 1. The government and the police said that a probe was underway into who erected the idol, other unauthorised buildings, the funding of such activity and the persons controlling the encroachments.
