Ghana have sacked head coach Otto Addo 72 days before the start of the World Cup 2026 after a run of poor results in preparation for the tournament. That statement reads: “The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has pated ways with Head Coach of the senior men’s national team (Black Stars), Otto Addo effective immediately. “The Association wishes to thank Otto Addo sincerely for his contribution to the team and wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavours. The World Cup, which is being held in Canada, Mexico and the USA, runs from June 11 to July 19. The 50-year-old had previously coached Ghana on an interim basis in 2022, including at the World Cup in Qatar.
