Ali is unlikely to feature in the first Test after his positive resultEngland face a nervous overnight wait to find out if any other member of the touring party has contracted the Covid-19 virus after Moeen Ali’s positive test result on Sunday. Ali was driven from England’s hotel in Hambantota to a hotel in Galle yesterday afternoon where he will quarantine for ten days. The all-rounder was accompanied by Dr Nick Peirce, the ECB’s medical director. It was deemed safe for Peirce to be with Ali in the car because, as a frontline NHS doctor, he has already received the first dose of the vaccine.
