England schools won't be ordered to shut early for Christmas to protect elderly

Some schools in England are opting to shut early to allow a safe period of time before kids see elderly or vulnerable relatives during the holiday. A group of schools had been planning to send children away early to continue lessons from home ahead of the festive break. The PM said today of calls to close schools earlier: "At the moment we're not planning to do that. The Department for Education has asked the Trust's bosses to review the decision to close its schools early. "Children are at very low risk from the virus, and staff are not at higher risk than those working in other sectors.”What do you think about schools early ahead of Christmas?
