Latest Public Health England reveal Bolton is by far the worst-hit of the country's towns and cities. In the seven days to Friday, 867 people in the Greater Manchester town tested positive - raising its infection rate from 150.2 cases per 100,000 people to 301.5. Blackburn with Darwen, in second place, has a rate of 131.6 cases per 100,000, up from 86.2 the previous week. Out of England's 315 local authority areas, 143 saw a rise in new cases while 154 recorded a drop and 18 remained the same.
