Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe qualified for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations following identical 1-0 wins against Tanzania and Botswana respectively on Thursday. Emilio Nsue was the hero for Equatorial Guinea as his 90th minute goal in Malabo sent the hosts through while Perfect Chikwende netted Zimbabwe’s winner inside 15 minutes. Equatorial Guinea joins Tunisia as qualifiers from Group J after the North Africans outclassed Libya 5-2 in Benghazi – Libya’s first international football game on home soil for seven years. Tunisia leads the way with 13 points with Equatorial Guinea second with nine points, followed by Tanzania and Libya on four and three points respectively. Zimbabwe’s win means they remained second in Group H but moved up to eight points, three behind group leaders and defending champions Algeria.
