All that was in my head was that I must not be stranded in a foreign land because of the war in the Middle East; I must leave Casablanca immediately! All we wanted then was to leave Casablanca as soon as possible, and the only viable option seemed to be flying through Istanbul. We had to leave Casablanca as soon as possible for a destination offering more and safe connections home. Back then people were here to escape the Nazi gunfire, but now I only wanted to take my family out of war zone to return home safely. Veritably, history does repeat itself, and Casablanca was now the transit point for me and my family to escape the Middle Eastern war.
