CEBU City: The arnis (Philippine martial art) community is mourning the death of Grand Master (GM) Dennis Cañete, the president of the Cacoy Cañete Doce Pares World Eskrima Federation. The son of the late Supreme GM Ciriaco “Cacoy” Cañete died of multiple organ failure on Aug. 21, 2020. GM Chuck Cañete recalled the contributions of his uncle, especially to the organization and to the younger generation of eskrimador (eskrima practitioner). We have shifted to online classes for our junior students, who are under the son of Tito Dennis, Miko,” GM Chuck said. “GM Dennis did much to promote and perpetuate the practice of eskrima throughout the world.”“My sincere condolences to the Cañete family.
