With an economic impact of approximately 4 billion, the festival, though catered to the Black community, has amassed a worldwide appeal and reach. This strategic move in the film and TV world indicates how massive the potential reach is to have visibility at the festival. Also having gone back to being 100% Black-owned, the festival added to its business-centered programming emphasizing entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Unique to the show this year will be a celebration of prolific albums from 1994 including Mary J Blige's My Life, Nas critically acclaimed Illmatic and Brandy's self-titled debut. Moreover, the festival will feature a Global Black Economic Forum, Wellness House, Fashion House, Food and Wine Festival, and Black Excellence Awards among other events.
