Ethiopia, Egypt Agree to Establish Investment CouncilJanuary 18, 2018 - Amid recent tensions between Ethiopia and Egypt over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, the two countries investment officials reached an agreement to set up a joint investment council. The agreement was reached during a meeting between Sahar Nasr, Egyptian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation and her Ethiopian counterpart Fitsum Arega in Cairo. Following the agreement, the Egyptian minster expounded investment opportunities in Egypt in several domains and urged her Ethiopian counterpart to encourage investors from Ethiopia to invest in Egypt.
