The event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Researchers and experts discussed the potential of AI to transform agriculture in Ethiopia, highlighting that if 20 million farmers adopt AI over the next decade, their combined annual income could increase by $3.5 billion. Presentations outlined how AI technologies can deliver information to farmers in multiple local languages, detect crop and animal diseases early, and predict droughts and other environmental hazards.
