Ethiopian President Vows to Intensify Campaign Against Armed GroupsBy Staff ReporterOctober 5, 2020 (Ezega.com) -- Ethiopian President Sahelework Zewdie on Monday vowed to intensify the government’s response to the problem of insurgency which plagued several parts of the country during the last Ethiopian year. Stringent security measures will be launched against any armed group to ensure the rule of law and the safety of citizens are not compromised under any circumstances. President Sahlework Zewdie said the government would jointly work with concerned bodies to build democracy on a firm foundation to maintain the supremacy of law. According to the president, the government believes that the destiny of the country and its people rests on effectively and carefully constructed democratic order. However, as democracy is not attained through longing alone commitment and perseverance are expected from the Ethiopian public, she added.
