Hyderabad: An Ethiopian student , a PhD scholar in the engineering department of Osmania University (OU), reportedly committed suicide by wrapping his face with a plastic cover at his room at Tarnaka. Though the incident probably happened on Saturday night, it came to light on Tuesday.OU police said the incident took place in a hostel room at International Students’ Hostel, Tarnaka. Ethiopian Kalid Bali, 32, had been pursuing PhD at OU since April 2018.On Saturday night, Kalid met his friend Lara. When Lara tried to reach Kalid on Sunday, Kalid was inaccessible over the phone. Kalid had been undergoing treatment for health problems.Kalid recently visited Ethiopia and returned to the city in November last week.
