Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o has appealed to leaders in the neighbouring Kericho county to hold security barazas and embrace peaceful co-existence. In a statement on Sunday, Nyong'o said ethnic conflicts have led to loss of life and injuries and the situation is threatening to escalate. The county boss said the situation has adversely affected economic activities in Nyakach with the worst hit areas being Jimo and Kasaye. Inter-ethnic conflicts have been recurring in Nyakach and Sigowet subcounties along Kericho- Kisumu border. Nyong'o said it's time the conflicts were stopped by security apparatus to avert further loss of lives, injuries and loss of property.
