ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister received a call from European Council President Antonio Costa and discussed the ongoing tensions in the Middle East as well as Pakistan-EU relations. The Prime Minister also briefed the European Council President on the latest developments regarding Pakistan’s mediation efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East crisis. The European Council President, while supporting Pakistan’s peace efforts, reiterated that the European Union supports all diplomatic initiatives to restore peace and stability in the region. The President of the European Council said that he looks forward to welcoming the Prime Minister to Brussels on mutually agreed dates. The Prime Minister also expressed his best wishes to the President of the European Commission, Ms. Ursula von der Leyen.
