Everton boss Ancelotti urged to sell Sigurdsson in January transfer window after struggles

Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, who’s played for a range of top flight clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City, has struggled for form at Everton this season under Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti. This has prompted calls for the Reading graduate to be sold this window, as Ancelotti looks to build a side that is capable of breaking in to the Champions League places. Bent told the Football Insider: “Ancelotti has a proven pedigree, he’s won some of the biggest trophies in the world, so he knows what he’s doing. Bent highlighted the correlation between Sigurdsson’s drop in form and the Merseyside club’s decline in the first half of the Premier League campaign. The midfielder has made well over 200 appearances during his time in the Premier League with Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.
