Majority of youths in the country are using cocaine and codeine especially those in colleges, former NACADA chairman John Mututho has said. Recently, the Kenya Pharmacy and Poisons board (KPPB) banned the sale of codeine which is an ingredient of cough syrups. According to Mututho, there was an increase countrywide among university students in the use of the chemical that makes one ‘high’. Addressing the press in Naivasha over the weekend, Mututho asked the KPPB to ban the importation of any drug-laced with codeine. Mututho at the same time expressed his concern over the importation of food in the country.
