One Nation has appointed former Australian Survivor contestant George Mladenov to lead an internal review of the party’s New South Wales finances after allegations aired by Mark Latham in parliament that it had misused taxpayer funds. Latham was removed as One Nation’s NSW leader in August after an intervention from the party’s federal leader, Pauline Hanson. At the time, Latham’s upper house colleague, Rod Roberts, also announced that he would quit One Nation to sit as an independent and backed up the allegations. The special minister of state, John Graham, referred the allegations to the NSW electoral commission for an investigation, which is yet to disclose its findings. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday, Mihailuk described Mladenov as a “terrific, terrific person” and said she trusted his judgment.
