MANILA, Philippines — A former mayor of Midsalip, Zamboanga del Sur was arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Misamis Occidental on Friday. The PDEA said Paras is a member of the Kubal drug ring led by Ozamiz City Councilor Ricardo ”Ardot” Parojinog. Paras is also ranked seventh on the watchlist of drug personalities in Zamboanga del Sur. Her mother Leonida Angcap, the incumbent mayor of Midsalip, is among the local chief executives in President Duterte’s updated narco list. Paras and Lumantas face charges for illegal possession of firearms and violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
