Raphael Ede, EnuguThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the candidate of the Action Democratic Party for last year’s Anambra State governorship poll, Chief Ifeanyichukwu Okonkwo. Okonkwo was arrested by the anti-corruption agency after he instituted a N65bn law suit against the commission. Saturday PUNCH learnt that the EFCC had earlier detained the human rights activist for two days and released him on administrative bail. However, after 18 months of granting him bail, the EFCC failed to charge him for allegedly obtaining money under false pretences. The EFCC, however, picked up Okonkwo immediately after the court adjourned the case till Monday for hearing.
