Speaking to India Today, UPA candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi said,"I am taking on the virus of suspicion, biggest in our country right now. The anniversary of independence is also the anniversary of partition of India. We will not allow another partition of our minds and psychology. UPA nominated Gandhi as a candidate in opposition to Venkaiah Naidu, a former cabinet minister and a candidate of the BJP. Gandhi further added,"A message is out that Democratic opposition in our country that believes in secularism, decided to nominate a citizen candidate.
