Weekend heat is to blame for expected delays on the Lakeshore East GO line during Monday’s morning commute. Anne Marie Aikins, spokesperson for Metrolinx, said scheduled track work at Danforth and Rouge Hill stations over the weekend was delayed due to the extreme heat and air quality problems, with crews working fewer hours than anticipated. “We were not expecting this kind of weather for September,” Aikins said.
