Experts raise awareness of arthritis in young adultsTAIPEI, Taiwan -- Medical experts on Sept. 6 warned young adults to pay attention to stiff joints, saying they may be a symptom of spinal disease. In Taiwan, around 70,000 to 80,000 people are affected by Spondyloarthritis, a category of spinal disease and a type of arthritis. The two main subcategories of the disease are Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and Psoriasis arthritis( PsA). Symptoms of AS usually include difficulty in stooping down, restricted movement in the head and neck, spine stiffness and stiffness in the morning. Hsieh explained that for PsA, the disease usually occurs at the age of 20 to 40 or 55 to 60 and affects both genders equally.
