We were careful about one thing during the second wave, we didn’t shut down our industries. Compared to the first wave, the second wave was far more infectious and virulent. This was the PM’s vision, to first vaccinate the frontline workers, which enabled us to fight the second wave strongly. If we hadn’t conducted the tests, then how would we have increased our potential to handle the second wave? Compared to the first wave, the virus of the second wave was 50 per cent more infectious.
