Extra police personnel deployed outside Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader’s Uttara residence over fears of a possible “mob” have been later withdrawn. Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Uttara Division Deputy Commissioner Md Mahidul Islam said security was bolstered from Saturday afternoon outside Quader’s house in Sector 7. “There is now no extra police presence outside GM Quader’s residence.”The additional police personnel were withdrawn in the evening. However, by the afternoon, 10–15 youths were seen moving in vehicles past the chairman’s house as if on patrol. On Friday evening in Kakrail, clashes erupted between activists of the Jatiya Party and Gono Odhikhar Parishad.
