The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has decided to form a probe committee over the attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur. The decision for a judicial inquiry was conveyed by the Chief Advisor’s Office, with the DMP confirming its responsibility in establishing the panel, reports bdnews24.com. Earlier, Chief Advisor's Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed that the government has decided to initiate a judicial inquiry into the assault, led by a High Court justice. A clash occurred on Friday evening near the Jatiya Party’s central office, as a procession organised by Gono Odhikar Parishad passed by. After completing the march, they attempted to hold a press briefing outside the Gono Odhikar Parishad office, where law enforcers reportedly used batons.
