Exxon promises to cut emissions that hasten climate changeELIZABETH CONLEY/AP Exxon says it has spent more than US$9 billion (NZ$13 billion) on lowering emissions since 2000. Methane is a much more potent greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, although methane does not last in the atmosphere as long.
