FC London’s Jade Kovacevic and Mike Marcoccia were multiple winners at League1 Ontario’s season-ending awards gala this past weekend. Kovacevic was named the women’s division MVP and honoured as the top scorer despite missing two months because of injury. Marcoccia was named coach of the year for the men’s and women’s divisions after leading both squads to the top of the table. London’s 19-year-old defender Marko Maletic was a co-winner of the men’s Young Player of the Year award, splitting the honour with Kunle Dade-Luke of Toronto FC III. TAM HEADING TO SPAINWhitecaps London player Brandon Tam was one of four boys selected for a trip to Real Madrid thanks to his performance at the club’s recent High Potential Player combine.
